You can't help but notice it. 30 seconds on any adult website and you see every kink imaginable but priced from FREE to a couple hundred dollars. The videos aren't really that different. Some are short and some are long. Some are better lit or have unique subject matter, but ultimately they are all simply trying to accommodate a particular viewer.
ManyVids, in particular, allows girls and studios to set their own pricing at will. A lot of sites limit models on what they are allowed to charge for a product. ManyVids, as others, allow studios to sell content as well. Studios are unique in the fact that they produce content from multiple performers and handle the financials between themselves. So, back to the question. Why are some videos so fucking expensive? Because the model feels that is her worth, and she's right. A studio has the ability to price according to demand. I for one am not going to value my body, or what I do with it, based on demand. I do everything I can to remain competitive, but at the end of the day I want to feel good about every video sale I make. I don't have the overhead of managing a studio, but I also only have myself to profit from. My camera was a little less expensive, my lights aren't all the right shade of white and I'm sure you'd love to see me masturbate somewhere other than my bedroom for fucks sake. This is what I do though. I don't sell as many videos as I could, but when I do sell one I know that the buyer has a genuine interest in me. It makes it a great gateway to meet someone that is truly interested in what I have to offer. So do yourself a favor, buy her expensive ass video and understand that you are her success. She couldn't do it without you.

Ah this is indeed true but sometimes models try to cheat (haven't noticed it here) by making a 10-19min video expensive 30-60+ with nothing going on till the last minute then you just feel like you've over paid for it which I have done, I understand that the model is in charge and is her own boss but some models are only in it for money and exploit that fact. But for the most part what youre saying is true
On the other hand, I have videos at 3.99. It doesn't mean I think I'm worth 3.99. I have no hangups about making my content available at a reasonable price.

Well said. To add-- the more expensive the video, the less likely it will end up uploaded somewhere and pirated. It's way better to have 1 sale @ $40 than 2 @ $20 for this reason.
