Camming Changed My Life

Wake up, drag myself out of bed, drink 10 gallons of coffee, go to class, go to my boring vanilla job that made me want to cry every time I thought about it. Go home and pass out getting maybe 6 hours of sleep a night. Now imagine trying to fit a shower and eating dinner in there; forget about having a social life. Add a little depression and existential crisis in the mix and voila! You have the life of Violet down to a T.

Camming has changed my life in so many different ways I cannot even begin to explain. It has made me so much happier and more free, more confident in my abilities and I can honestly say I have found my niche. I found out who my real friends were when I decided to tell people in my life what I was doing for a little extra cash. Some people rejected me and wanted nothing to do with me, some people embraced it as a part of who I am. When I quit my vanilla job to cam full time and focus on school, people I worked with found out what I was doing (through the grape vine) some were jealous of my freedom and some called me some pretty horrible names.

That's when it stopped being all about the extra money, and when it started being about making my image what I wanted it to be. People thought I was slutty, sleazy and lacked self respect. When in reality, it was the exact opposite. I gained so much respect for myself because I was doing something out of the norm, I became really confident in my body and the way I looked. I walked a new walk and talked a new talk. What did I care what my old friends thought? Except it really hurt my feelings. I made it a point to avoid my old work friends and the places I used to work, I hid for a long time, trying to be humble and modest. But for those of you that know me, you know that's not how I roll.

It really does, Destiny! I went back to working a vanilla job after I took time off of school and it was a totally different experience from the first time I entered the work force. I kept thinking "how do people let themselves be treated like this all the time for such crappy pay?" It helped me alot and gave me a new respect for everyone out there working in minimum wage and retail.
