We have received plenty of general feedback about the MV Daily Grind and the MV Madness. We would like to take the time to let everyone know that because we are always receptive to your suggestions and always take the opinion of the MV Community into consideration - as of this Thursday the 24th of November at 12pm there will no longer be any recurring MV Madness or MV Daily Grind.
We will continue to host Winning Wednesday contests, as well as longer contests for bigger prizes during special occasions.
We hope that you understand and appreciate us hearing you out, and we want you to know that we have plenty of fun and great things planned for the future of MV so stay tuned!

I feel like people were mostly complaining about getting non-stop emails every time they got a sale... like "Earn $200 more this hour and you could be our next MV Madness winner!" Because that feels really patronizing. But the actual contest was nice. I have started to move away from ManyVids because of the loss of important features like the ticker, the MV Blog tab, and the snapchat. (Also that awful banner). The site looks good, but form should follow function, and the function has been cut out.
I also agree with CoriiSiren. It bothers me when I manually block the previews for my paid vids but they appear in the top banner of my profile. I'd feel better if I had more control over the way my profile looks and the image it portrays.
Should make a top fan contest
I don't really care about the contests. I could take or leave them, if I don't want to participate I don't. Problem solved. If I don't like the way a site is run, or the percentage I get paid, I leave. Problem solved.
I do however wish you'd change the title of this post to Fewer Contests on MV.

Can we talk about the bullshit HUGE video preview thing at the top of our profiles now? If you could bring back the 3 video previews that didn't make EVERY video look like shit, that would be great. If I was a new customer here, I wouldn't buy anything from anyone because that is the FIRST thing I see on the profile. I would run for the hills. From a marketing perspective, we have a MAXIMUM of 10 seconds to make a good impression on a custom and that awful "new" preview kills that impression within 3 seconds. Bring back the old top banner.

I had an idea that I presented. Well, I asked to be excluded from ALL contests in order to get a higher payout. Obviously it wasn't an option If that happened, I'm not sure any girls would do contests, well I certainly wouldn't since my popularity isn't very high and I've only made payout twice since June. I know it's my duty to raise my popularity myself but I sometimes get discourage knowing that some of the percentage is just going to models that win regularly. I'm still probably going to try to go independent because I'm my own walking studio, as many of the girls. The only person that helps me is my boyfriend and editing and filming is all done by me. So I guess instead of "complaining" I actually need to take action myself. I need to find the appreciation that I know I deserve. Sorry for the personal stuff, just needed to get that out of me. I do think the girls that won the most deserved it. It's hard work.
From a customer POV the "contests" are a nice enough way to notice new faces and/or get a deal on a few vids.
I'm sure the high "voters" are probably genuine, because people are people, but if the perception is that the events are being gamed, unwinnable or mainly a high earner bonus is the 40% cut and balance of good/bad publicity worth it? Guessing that's what the blog post and decisions are about.
As much as I hate moving elements on websites, the ticker was something on every page and gave everyone actively selling more of a shot at exposure. It wouldn't be too hard to re-implement so that it isn't a browser resource hog.

I REALLY liked the contests that aren't pay to win. Lana Rain wins almost every Winning Wednesday even when the photos she enters has NOTHING to do with the topic. She won the smile contest with no smile on her face at all and won the legs contest with a picture of a fucking action figure in front of her face. It defeats the purpose of other girls trying when a top girl with a ton of followers will just pay to have her picture win, even if it doesn't relate to the category at all.
With that being said, it's really nice when people only have 1 vote each day and a $1 donation isn't worth 100 votes. It also allows for contests to be won more honestly.
And I get that there is a staff pick in the photo contests too, but the staff pick prize is usually $50- $100 while the grand prize is always over $1000. The staff picks are always like a kick in the face to me when I see a girl who actually tried really hard to have professional photos taken just get leftover scraps while other people abusing the contests make thousands.

Even before Lana, models have been doing this and many of us have been trying to get the site to be mindful of it. Only ONCE have they, and that was because their photo winner was ripped from Google... -__- The money's coming in, so I don't see much changing there.

Mine too! I used to be able to get videos featured because the ticker really promoted the videos for new customers. Haven't had a single video featured since.

(This going to be a super unpopular opinion lol) I feel the current percentage is pretty fair. When I use a platform I expect them to take 40% (or more; every other clipsite I've tried took more, or else your payout percentage increases as your earnings for the site did) in return for hosting my content and generating any traffic at all for me. Maybe I'm bias because I come from a site that paid me less and wouldn't let me promote myself, idk. But I agree with the possibility of fewer contests with first, second, and third place would give more girls incentive to try and feel the hard work put into participating wasn't wasted. Maybe like two contests per month with a first second and third place instead of all these we have. But I think if we kept the MV madness page with an hourly winner (even without a prize, just the girls face/link) that would be nice since we don't have the little bar at the top telling us what's being sold anymore.

Chatting is usually a service given by models separately. Ex: KIK, SC, etc. You can see if the model you're interested in chatting with has "texting" available on their profile. Or if they cam, it's pretty much the same thing.

MV Madness and Daily Grind only ever benefited models who were making $$$ anyway, but by taking it away you're also taking away the hope and opportunity. This should be compensated with higher payouts. I'd be happy with 70%

I think higher pay out and less prizes would make it fairer to all the models instead of the top models getting so much more though winning prizes. Will make it easier for the other models to make a living.

They listen to Models about everything. Where are they leaving, and heading to? IwantClips? Where they charge customers more than what the models charge just to claim they give the girls a higher percentage rate?
no; many girls including myself are moving to independent membership sites
c4s and a few others are good temporary options, and as Miss Vox said, going independent. One of my fave models left here and is doing just fine through a model owned service.
Independent membership sites, and Indiebill (which gives models 85% and covers chargebacks) is another growing one. I've even started moving towards free to stream porn (pornhub amateur program), because that in combination with paid downloads has proven to be the golden combination for me.
Actually yeah, a lot of girls are going to IWC, PervoutPay, IndieBill and independent sites. They all have a higher percentage than manyvids. Manyvids listens to what they want to listen to. Why do I think this? Because we've been saying higher payout just as long as we've been saying no more contests and we still don't have a higher payout.
Exactly this. MV not bending to the will of every single model using their platform doesn't mean they don't listen. It means they are more worried about the site than someone who has made payout twice in a year. If you think you'll do better elsewhere by all means, go there. I hope you kill it on another site that you like better.

Increase payout. You've already lost so many paying customers with the contests. Why not stop the WEEKLY contests too and make them more scarce so guys have something to look forward to? And raise our payout. THAT is what you should be listening to.
The frequency of contests (imo) are upping the traffic of cheap members too... they wait til a contest rolls around to see which models will lower their prices the most in hopes of winning... very sad to see soo many models undersell themselves just trying to make cash out goals

Yeah, it used to be so much easier to find new models and what not. Now they only ever show you the top models. When you go searching, be sure to use the filters to find new models!
I think it's pretty obi that all girls think they deserve more even with the increase in traffic on here, i think it's about time they stop with all the contest other than winning Wednesday.
Honestly payouts should be increased and in my view any contests you do should have a 1-3 place prizes including winning wendsday. It would also help if on the contest tabs that had an offer section that models could given more detailed information on what they are offering. Instead of a small text entry tab. Constantly having in contests however have burned out many of my customers. Work on getting Snapchat account back up for mv and keep it up even if it keeps getting closed that was a fantastic tool for getting traffic and being seen on manyvids.

I agree I think the MV Madness was a step in the right direction by allowing everyone a chance to get a little bonus and get seen. Even on days that were not prize days it was still a great tool for girls to get get their name out there and be found by members who may, or may not be familiar with their content. I think that's pretty important

If you really want site contests to remain a unique part of the MV community then why bother to host one once a week? There's no significance in an event that happens so often. The hype for winning Wednesday died out a long time ago and its just a really inconvenient time and day for models and members to participate in. Maybe have a themed contest once a month and allow models to have significant time to prepare an entry instead of 2 or 3 days. Oh, and raise the payout percentage.

I dug the MV Madness as it gave more of a chance to everyone to get a little something. The contests in themselves still seem to be a grey area for me personally. But I agree with the other models about a higher payout being given.
MV madness actually got me attention I may not have always won but I would get close.
It definitely helps a bit. I've won twice from pure dumb luck. Came close occasionally. So I like to think it did help temporarily.
I like the idea of the MV Madness it doesn't give too much out at once and it allows a variety of women to win, but i agree that payouts should be higher and winning wednesdays could be done less.

While yes, also no. Think about POC who don't really get a lot of attention as they're categorized as a fetish. Same for BBC models. Etc. Also consider how many models have a large following, but it does not mean they will always be able to throw money at a model consistently to win contests... It's really not "that simple" for everyone.

Guys don't like hard selling which is what you have to do sometimes to get your content noticed among so many models. They are people and want to forget about their wallets it can be difficult at times.
Indeed, I believe most models would rather see the money used in any/all MV contests to go towards a higher payout for us all. Many competitors offer 70%. I hope that MV decides to raise their payout as well, especially now that many contests are gone!

I love the Daily grind and MV Madness even on the days it isn't being conducted. Gives me more of an incentive to step it up so my name and pic is on the front page of the site. Helps with exposure.I've seen some girls say like the Winning Wednesday hurts their sales. But I don't see how. If guys want to buy your vids they'll buy them regardless of a contest.
The problem is that the most popular girls gets more traffic and even more attention while non top models get lost at the bottom,and it's harder for buyers to find us
Another issue I find it not ok, considering Wednesday contests, those that are keeping one day...for European models isn't good at all the start of it and the end, many of them aren't on Manyvids during Night...or having their friends during their night, and most of the times the Wednesday contests started late and ended up at 2-4 am, try consider GMT as time area too...at least. Or this site is only for USA models?

I don't think the contests were a big deal, not many models do well enough in the contests to hit payout requirements or even get very much exposure. I think that was our biggest complaint. And that there was hardly very many different winners. Of course a lot of it has to do with a models support group but I feel like if exposure was more often on the site it'd be different.
You could add a section on your menu like "recently added store items" and guys could filter by panties or whatever they're into and you could show which models had recently added this to their store, or you could filter videos by b/g or dp, just different options to get items easily searched..also I believe higher payout % are possible for you guys, you give away $6,000 on big contests like the teamsgiving raising the payout just a bit more won't hurt, plus models would be able to leave other sites and stay with mv itself, 70-75% payout seems fair to me bc as content makers we take a lot of time,
effort and expenses to make good content, which in turn benefits you guys, quantity is not always better than quality...and for us to be able to increase our quality we need to be able to not worry about how much our videos are worth if we're only getting a percentage...just an opinion.
And personally I think you should make the best picture prize more than $50-$100 for the simple fact that we can't win that with our support, we have to actually take a good picture associated with your theme and that isn't always easy. Personally I just think that's more than just a popularity contest it's based on how good the pictures are, how on theme they are...or at least it should be.
