In late 2015, I was a typical student in England. I’d just signed up for a degree course in physical education that seemed to offer little in terms of future prospects except half a lifetime paying back a massive student loan. I saw people I knew finishing my course and struggling to find any meaningful jobs that were actually related to the qualification they had worked so hard for. In fact, the only thing that the gymnastics and stretching on my course seemed to prepare girls for was working in strip clubs, which several of my classmates took up with varying degrees of success. Some girls were making good money, but I knew that stripping wasn’t for me because I didn’t fancy working fixed hours and traveling to and from my frankly sketchy town center at some of the most dangerous hours at night.

When I discovered camming, it seemed to solve all of those problems. I could work my own hours and broadcast from the safety of my home – it sounded perfect for me and realistically it suited me because I’d always enjoyed the thrill of being watched, even when I was a young teenager sending photos to boys I liked online! I watched girls changing their lives online and thought “why not me?” After a couple of faltering starts, I began broadcasting as "hannahjamescb" and began from the bottom. As any cam girl knows, starting out, learning the ropes and gaining an audience is not the easiest thing to do. I initially struggled since I’ve never been particularly technically minded but I quickly found that a lot of my fans who were more knowledgeable eager to help. I persevered, putting in as many hours a day as I possibly could, and reinvesting the limited amount of money I had into new toys, outfits, and technology. Eventually, around this time last year, things began to change. I began seeing some regulars and appearing on the top rankings regularly. For New Year's Eve 2015, I did my first ever 9-hour show and couldn’t believe the reception I got. The night was insane, I came 14 times, so many happy memories were made and I remember logging off knowing that my life had changed for the better and I wasn’t going back.

Flash forward to 2016 and I quit my degree course, paid my outstanding loan back and focussed on camming and making videos full time. My boyfriend began helping me and together we tried to improve all elements of my broadcasting. I’d always wanted to move to Spain to enjoy more sun, sea, and sand and improve my quality of life compared to what I’d been used to living in a tiny, damp flat in a big city in England. In August, I was able to fulfill this desire thanks entirely to my amazing fans who make every aspect of my life not only possible but incredible! I now live in Spain and am loving life without the drizzle and cold of back home. I’d been aware of ManyVids for a while before moving but had never wanted to start an account because I didn’t feel particularly inspired by my surroundings or my dingy flat. I knew that moving to Spain would give me the beautiful setting I wanted, both inside and out so I purchased my first DSLR and prepared to make some videos! I’m now at the very beginning of my videography journey (I started MV under a month ago) and I hope that by this time next year we will all see another huge leap forward similar to the progress that I have made since last year. I’m about to release my first boy/girl sex video with my boyfriend, I have invested in an improved shotgun mic and I’ve spent hours learning Premiere to try and create the best content possible for my fans.

I have to say, the most positive aspect of my journey into the adult industry has to be the people who I have met along the way. Initially, I was nervous to enter a different world which I thought would be unfriendly and alien to me but from the very beginning people have gone out their way to help me and make me feel welcome. Some of the acts of kindness I’ve experienced from the community have genuinely made me cry and examples such as one incredible friend buying my boyfriend a $1000 jacket really highlight the generosity and good nature of people I’ve met online. Of course, the internet wouldn’t be the internet without trolling, and my fans love to troll me. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve danced to Mr. Blobby and the Fraggle Rock theme tune and recently when I opened a PO box I promptly got sent 105 plastic ducks, a paddling pool, and a fishing rod. I’ve been overwhelmed by the participation in my  MV contest entries and for someone as new as me, I’m really enjoying the community and participation offered by this site.

For anyone that is considering entering the adult industry, I’d say go and do it! You can take control of your destiny, learn new skills, meet amazing people and have more orgasms than you’d ever thought possible in the process! Not to mention vastly improve your knowledge of 80’s children's TV show theme tunes…
