Sex and smoking aren’t strangers. In fact, many enjoy the commonly known pleasure of having a smoke after sex.

But then there’s something that puts this on another level: smoking fetish. The proper name for it is Capnolagnia, and it is a fetish based on sexual arousal when observing or imagining someone smoking.

We certainly know how big this fetish is. Heck, we just did an article a few days ago on smoking-related items in MV Stores.

Like any fetish, it is complex in its root, but it has been said many times that smoking fetish is developed from early childhood and adolescence. So this gives rise to the usual speculation that men with mothers who smoked are into women who smoke, in line with the Oedipal theory that men seek partners that resemble their mothers.

Also, there are certain connotations that come with smoking. Particularly the fact that it is a self-destructive behavior. Men feel that women who smoke are “bad girls” with riskier behavioral patterns. People may find that those who smoke are more explorative and wild, and this leads to sexual appeal.

What first got you into making smoking fetish videos?

When I first began webcamming I met a ton of viewers who had smoking fetishes right away, probably because I almost always have a cigarette in my hand. Being an avid smoker, I loved the idea of being able to do something I already love while making new videos, so I was drawn to them as well. The first smoking fetish video I made was a custom a fan had ordered of me smoking a cigar and giving a blowjob at the same time. It was so much fun to shoot and has continued to sell well since, so I was eager to make more smoking related videos.

What do you think makes people have a fetish for smoking?

A friend of mine told me they had a theory that men with a smoking fetish all must have a mother who smoke. I have asked a few of my oldest smoking fetish customers about that, all of whom said that was correct. Whether the two are actually related, who knows. Personally I think seeing a person you find attractive inhale and blow out white, curly puffs of smoke is incredibly sexy. Maybe it also has something to do with the danger associated with it, craving something you know is bad for you, and being unable to resist.

Are people who are attracted to smoking fetish usually smokers themselves, or are smoking and smoking fetish two different things?

Almost all of the people I have encountered with a smoking fetish are also smokers themselves, although I have met two or three who don't smoke. One guy told me he couldn't stand to smoke himself, but loved the lingering taste of cigarettes on a girls lips when he made-out with someone. For this reason he said he almost exclusively dated women who smoke.

What makes good smoking fetish? Is it just about the smoking, or is there something else to it?

I've noticed that people with a smoking fetish tend to be super specific with what they are into. Most of the smoking videos I have made were custom orders because the person wanted to see a specific brand (Virginia Slim 120s and Marlboro Reds are probably the most popular) or a specific act while smoking. Others were very interested in seeing me chain smoke, or smoke more than one at a time. Then there are the people who are focused on hearing a rasp in my voice, or seeing me cough. It definitely isn't strictly about the smoking itself, but which particular thing about the fetish that they find themselves most attracted to is always different.
