Many people first starting out in this industry have a very difficult choice to make. Camming or clip making? Or both? For everyone the choice is different; many start with one and go on to do the other and some just stick to one and never dabble in the other. So what's best for you and where should you start? Kitty to the rescue! I've got a personal pros and cons list to help you decide!

Clip Creating:

Pros:

• Personally I have found that creating clips is easier if you have a hectic schedule and don't have the time every day to set aside for camming. If you create clips and only create clips you can easily set out a few days a month and film everything you need to film for that entire month and maybe more. The trick to this one is keeping a notepad around at all times when creativity strickes to write down ideas, that way when you have a day off you can lay out your outfits for each clip and bang them out easy!
• For the antisocial at heart clip creating is much less stressful because there is little one on one interaction with your customers. They see your video they buy it without you ever having to talk to them. This also falls into the cons if you're antisocial because in order to be able to maximize your sales interaction is key, whether it's talking to those who heart or buy your videos here on Manyvids or taking to social media to promote your unique store.
• If you're someone who is hiding your sex work life from someone living in your house clip creating is much easier because you only have to set up to film whenever you can and like I mentioned in the first bullet point it's all based on your schedule so you don't have to have bulky lights and dildoes everywhere all the time like you do in camming. Set up when youre ready to shoot and tear down and hide your stuff when you're done. Simple as pie
• There is a lot more creativity that goes into clip creating, with so many different clip creators you need to find something that makes you stand out so if you're someone with a creative mind this is perfect for you. Personally I have trouble sometimes coming up with new and exciting clips that are eye catching.

Cons:

• If you struggle with being able to keep your attention on one thing clip creating may be hard for you because you do have to be able to concentrate at the task at hand to get those clips made and edited to post and release into the world.
• If you're worried about privacy clip creating may not be the choice for you. Unfortunately with the sex industry your content will eventually end up somewhere for free while you can DMCA everything you've made and have it taken down sometimes if you don't find it quickly enough you may risk having people you don't want to know about your job finding out about your job. As well as once a clip is up it's up until you take it down unlike with camming once youre off cam your face is no longer viewable on the site. Risks come with every job you take and unfortunately this is one that isn't avoidable if you plan on "making it big".
• It's hard work. This is simple and applies to both clip creating and camming and any other job; if you're lazy or just don't want to put in the work don't expect to do well. Everyone who does well in any industry works hard to do well and that's no different when it comes to sex work. We do not just "lay on our backs and make money" a lot of hard work goes into being a sex worker.

Camming:

Pros:

• If you're someone who does better with interaction and can easily be sexy on command camming is for you. It's very simple when it comes to camming; the more you work = the more you earn. 
• If you have a good free schedule camming is fantastic because if you can get online on a set schedule you make better connections with your customers and they'll know when and where to find you based on your schedule. Many customers who visit cam sites do so on a schedule usually at the same time every day because they work it around their responsibilities.
• If you are a talkative entertaining person, camming is for you. Camming takes a lot of personality to be good at, you have to be able to speak to people whether you're working on an open chat platform where you are interaction with multiple people at the same time or you're working on a private show platform where you are interacting with one person at a time. There is a lot of interaction that goes on during cam shows. You have to be able to read your room. While this is a con to some people for me I love it not just because I love to talk but also because you make connections with certain customers that outside of being naked on the internet you may not have made. I personally have connected with some of my customers to the point where they have become good friends of mine and talk to me on almost a daily basis. It's great if you do want to make those connections plus it makes it that much more fun when you're on cam and someone you consider a friend comes to hang out!
• If like me you are not the most creative person, camming might be for you. While creative and fun shows are definitely more fun to watch and interact in you can simply do cum shows and have similar shows daily and still make the money you want. Ofcourse occasionally changing things up is fun but you don't have to get super creative all the time like you do with clip making. With one on one camming websites it's even easier because once you're in a private it's all about what that customer wants to see which takes the pressure off of you!

Cons:

• Camming is very time consuming, if you cannot stick to a schedule camming is not for you. In order to maximize your earnings being on cam regularly is a must. If you cannot put in 2+ hours a day at least 5 days a week, camming is probably not for you. Being able to make those connections with people who are in your room every day is key to having return customers. If you go on cam 3 days a week then take 2 weeks off those customers that wanted to see you have moved on to models that are more reliable - harsh but unfortunately true. You have to be able to stick to some kind of schedule.
• SOCIAL MEDIA! SOCIAL MEDIA! SOCIAL MEDIA! This one is a con for both camming and clip creating as it's very vital in making sure your customers know when you're available or when you're releasing content. If you're not someone who likes social media or knows how to use technology this industry is probably not for you. Twitter, instagram and snapchat will not only bring your regular clients back to you when you get online or post something new but will also bring you new clients so again if you can't social media you'll have a hard time camming or creating clips that sell.
• Pushing comfort zones and speaking up. If you do not know or cannot speak up for yourself camming is not for you. There will always be people who come into your cam room and want to see how far they can take things. It's important to keep in mind that people get off on different things - ergo why we have such a wide variety of fetishes. And some people get off to making others uncomfortable which can come in terms of them asking you to do something you're uncomfortable with or straight up being mean and calling you names. You have to be strong in order to listen to degregation and know how to brush it off.

Overall sex work is hard work and getting into this industry means working hard, but being able to do what you love and make money doing it is an amazing feeling that everyone should experience.
