The MV Team recently got the chance to interview MV Star SofiaRose. We were thrilled! What did we ask her? All of the following!

How did you start in the adult industry? 

In 2005, I was approached by a photographer in Newport Beach California to do some partial nude photos. I was extremely hesitant. I was a newly single mom and wasn't sure what I was doing. After some time he convinced me and we did three test sets. I was only comfortable with being topless, tastefully keeping everything hidden. I submitted those photos to three magazine and websites and I heard back from all of them in 48 hours. A month later, I had shot for all of them. I was a single mom and my middle school daughter was being horribly bullied by her classmates; I wanted to inspire and show her chubby girls are loved, too. 

What are your passions outside of adult entertainment? 

I'm a true humanitarian. I love animals and rescuing them. Supporting my extended family in all their dreams. I'm naturally a person who people open up to discuss their life issues and struggles. I'm often sought for advice because of my vast life experiences. I'm currently looking into becoming a mental health professional specializing in treating adult performers and sex workers. I also like to advocate for size acceptance, all bodies are good bodies, POC and LGBTQ+.

What vids are you most proud of, and what has been the most memorable moment in your career so far? 

I just shot a gender challenging video in Vancouver, Canada. I can't wait to release it. In 2006 I was one of the few BBWs in the industry. It's so refreshing to look back and see how far we have come and how many young BBWs are here today. I love that I was able to be part of a movement that has inspired so many women plus-size and not, to love their bodies and not be afraid to show whatever aspects they are proud of. 

What future career plans do you have? 

To stay on the current course. I have a few mainstream projects outside of the BBW niche schedule for the fall and I'm excited about those. I'm rebranding, and hopefully launching my first calendar.

You're rumored you are retiring? 

It's true. I have my self scheduled to retire from performing, In December 2020, with AVN 2021 being my last public appearance as a performer. This does not mean I am leaving entirely. I haven't decided fully what my next role will be, but I'm pretty sure it will be going back to solo, glamour and modeling only, if at all. I've been blessed to be able to fully retire from all adult work if I desire. I'm just not sure what retirement means to me yet. Stay tuned. 

What you see is what you get?

Depends on what capacity.  In a personal meeting, absolutely. In my real life, nope. I'm pretty boring, LOL. I live a "normal" life. I'm low-key and simple. Very humble and down to earth.  I'm only loud and obnoxious when I need to be....the rest of the time, I'm just a little kid trying to figure it out like everyone else.
