How did you start in the adult industry?

I got started in the adult industry after years of working in a rather dull corporate banking job, and after getting laid off, I decided to do something that was interesting and exciting and to turn my fetish hobby into my career. They always say, "If you are going to start your own business make sure you do something that you genuinely have a passion for," and wet and messy fetishes were always my passion. I had two partners, one of which had been a professional film and video director making TV commercials for the Detroit Auto industry, and he was bored of filming automobiles driving off into the sunset and was keen to shoot naked models performing scuba diving and underwater modeling. His interest in underwater models and scuba diving and my interests for getting models wet and messy were a perfect match. We later found that one of our underwater models, Tracie, has a passion for photography, so she joined our partner as a model/photographer who organizes all our projects.

How would you describe your producing style?

Well, our producing and filming style is not politically correct or “artsy” in a mainstream way. We focus on the more salacious camera angles and shots that you'd never see in mainstream films and TV shows–what normally gets edited out like upskirt shots, close-ups of shoes and pantyhose, long breath holding underwater scenes. For example, the greatest pie fight of all time was in the movie The Great Race and it lasted less than 2 minutes–whereas our erotic pie fights are rather excessive and can go on for a 15-20 minute pie orgy.

The content you film is very fetish-specific. Can you please tell us more about it? We are dying to know more!

Yes indeed, the fetish areas we cover (wet and messy and underwater) are a very tiny niche group of people. The common term for our gene is “WAM” (wet and messy), and fans are referred to as “wam fans,” though another term used in the UK is “sploshing.”

There are only 3 significant forums in the entire world for fans with these interests, and the total number of fans on these 3 forums are only around 70,000 people...so that is 0.0001% of the humans on this planet. We know through our own customer demographics that 80% of our customers and fans come from 3 main countries, USA, United Kingdom and Germany, so this fetish appears to be a cultural thing that mostly comes from North American and Northern Europe, and few folks seem to have these interests south of the equator.

We have been providing fetish videos and custom services to approx 10,000 fans during the last 26 years. We have had our own websites since 1996 and have recently joined MV because we really like the state of the art platform. 

What do you enjoy the most about creating content for your fans?

The best thing is the feedback we get from our regular fans and followers. When somebody says to me, “I thought I was the only person in the world who had this weird fetish, and now I found somebody who has the same interests as I have,” that is the best compliment we can get–because mainstream adult fans prefer mainstream porn, and we are definitely an alt-fetish company that few people are interested in, but for those who are looking for something different to mainstream porn, we offer that alternative.

Have you always wanted to shoot adult content? If you weren’t making porn, what would you be producing?

No, I had no intentions to shoot adult content when I was younger. It was always just a fantasy I had in my head and something I did with my girlfriends privately. I had a high paying job in the corporate world for years, so adult vids was merely a side hobby and some entertainment for me. It was not until the recession hit, and I got laid off from my day job that I was forced to make a decision of what I wanted to do in life.

What vids are you most proud of? / What has been the most memorable moment in your career so far?

Well, over the years we have been featured on many tv shows such as Donahue, The Jerry Springer Show, The Howard Stern Show, HBO’s Real Sex, and many tv shows in the UK and Germany such as The Graham Norton Show and Liebe Sund. We have done shoots with many of the top porn stars such as Asia Carrera, Seka, Mason Storm, and Mary Carey and were lucky enough to do a shoot with Brande Roderick before she hit the big time on Baywatch and became Playboy Playmate of the Year.

We have had plenty of memorable moments, but I guess the proudest moment for me was when we started producing our own full length 90 minute B-movies and Superhero films! And though the critics thought our models were lousy actresses and the storylines and scripts were crap, our fans loved it. One mainstream video distributor who used to carry our VHS videos in the rental stores once gave us a backhanded compliment, and said our B-movies were worse than a Troma film and said they were a waste of $100,000 to produce such crap, and my partner and I smiled because we had spent less than 10 grand to produce each of our feature films.....so we produced crap much more efficiently than Troma does.

What do you find is the biggest struggle as a producer in the adult industry?

Piracy! We were producing loads of content and re-investing to make bigger and more expensive production and then things all changed in 2005 when free online streaming really started taking off. Bear in mind that 80% of our fetish content is not X rated and much of our media has no nudity, so that ended up being streamed on free mainstream streaming sites...and the 20% that is X rated ends up on porn tube website.

We had to curtail doing more feature films because we no longer had enough financial support and most of our former customers started migrating to free streaming sites instead.

These days you can only remain active as a fetish producer if you truly have a passion for what you are doing because the free streaming sites have severely impacted our ability to produce ongoing content.

What future career plans do you have?

We are currently exploring new technologies and new methods to deliver fetish content in new ways, for example, we are presently doing production tests on 360 VR cameras. We have previously tested creating 3D content but have found that our fans were not interested in wearing headsets, so we are testing 360 VR media that does not require the viewer to wear a headset.
