Dating as an MV Star

What challenges have you experienced while being in a long term relationship and being an MV Star?

To be quite honest, I have not experienced any challenges that I can think of off the top of my head. I started dating my partner several months before joining ManyVids and the adult industry as a whole. We had a really open and honest conversation about what our boundaries would be in regard to the type of content I make. I made sure to emphasize that it is OK for my partner to not be OK with certain things. That being uncomfortable with something wouldn’t make him any less of a supportive partner. At the end of the day, we are both adults, and we know that we can talk about these things in a really productive way.

Are you monogamous with your partner? Why or why not?

My partner and I started off as monogamous and have been for the majority of our two-and-a-half-year relationship. It wasn’t until recently that we have opened things up with another couple. This couple are our really good friends, and they are super open-minded people as well. So, it kind of just works! Lots of talking was done first. We needed to make sure everyone was on the same page and boundaries were well and truly established. Now, whenever we have this couple over for dinner, there’s the added bonus of ending the evening with a bang!

Has being in the industry affected your sex life?

I actually don’t think it has. This might be a boring answer, but I think my personal sex life is pretty on par with most civilians! I was actually a lot more sexually adventurous before getting into the industry. Now I just film my content, whether that be solo or otherwise, and that’s work. Then I veg out on the couch with my partner watching something on Netflix (currently loving Star Trek Discovery!), and we’ll fool around if the mood strikes. Apart from the occasional foursome with friends, my sex life is pretty boring, and honestly, that’s the way I like it!

Has being an MV Star helped your relationship at all?

I think the most important skill I’ve honed since joining MV and working with other industry folks, is my communication skills. Learning the intricacies of sexuality and the importance of respecting boundaries has helped me to have more patience and understanding within my own relationship. I think that so many relationship issues stem from either a misunderstanding or just a total lack of communication. Keeping things bottled up only leads to resentment and explosive arguments. I like to bring things up with my partner as soon as possible. That way we can talk it out. This is also extremely important when it comes to sex. If you don’t ask, you don’t get!

What sex and relationship advice do you think you can now dole out after being an adult creator?

This one carries on from my last answer. TALK TO YOUR PARTNER/S! No-one is a mind reader. If something is playing on your mind, do yourself, and everyone else involved a favor and say something. Yes, it can be hard or awkward or stressful. But the relief you will feel after a good ol’ fashioned heart to heart is a million times better than keeping your thoughts and feelings to yourself. Being in a relationship means being in a team. Now I don’t know much (anything) about sports, but I’m pretty sure a big part of winning a game is being in sync with your teammates. But in this case, the team is your relationship, and the game is life. How’s that for an analogy?! Nailed it.

You’re pansexual, can you explain the term to the uninitiated? Does it make dating easier or harder?

If you’re reading this and you think you’ve got a funny/original joke about wanting to fuck pans, I can tell you right now that you don’t! The prefix “pan” means all. So basically, I am attracted to all genders. Or rather, I am attracted to people based on every other aspect of who they are, and gender just doesn’t play into for me. There can be a lot of confusion between pan and bi, and there’s a lot of variations on definitions all over the internet. But I’m not out here trying to police anyone’s sexuality. If you can find a term that you can relate to, claim it! Everyone wants to feel a sense of belonging and if a label can help you feel that, then that can only be a good thing.

The relationship I’m currently in is with a cishet (cisgendered and heterosexual) man. I love him dearly, and he is beyond amazing, but I still have a strong need for some fierce femme energy. Which is where our openness with a trusted couple helps. I get to fulfill multiple aspects of my sexuality, and all four of us get to evolve together and as individuals.

What would you want every “civilian” who goes on dates with a sex worker or content creator to know?

If you find yourself dating someone who does sex work, it’s essential to do your research. The world of sex work is probably very new and fascinating to you. Which it should be! It’s a really cool industry that doesn’t get enough accurate exposure in the media. But please try to do some of the legwork yourself before you start interrogating your date. You could probably answer a lot of your own questions with a few google searches. Or better yet, deep dive into some MV Blog articles!

FUUUUUCK DELILAH, this is a hot mf picture of youuu

It's great that working on ManyVids helped you understand more about relationships. But I definitely feel you're right in that the sex work industry is always painted in a bad light from the media. Usually it'll either be through buzzwords, or from using their profession to 'other' them.
