Beauty is BALANCE

RocksyDaizy shares her insights and experiences when it comes to beauty and being an MV Star:

Whoever said beauty is pain left out the most crucial part of it all: Beauty is balance. In this industry we ask ourselves questions like this every day:

"Which makeup will best highlight my features? Which hairstyle will hold up to this activity? Which outfit will wow the crowd? Which accessories will add just the right touch? Do I shave for this?"

The list goes on and on, and the answers aren’t always simple nor the same. We MV Stars put countless hours into our appearances, sometimes while working through sickness and exhaustion to please our fans. As a result, the balancing act is not lost upon us. Struggling between prep time, shoot time, and communication time takes a skill that many outside of the industry often take for granted, as our appearance is crucial to our work.

But, what happens when it goes beyond the every day and move a step further? Many of us have had it, and a great many crave it…Plastic surgery! The expense is tough enough, but the process of the procedure and the healing time is not for the weak of heart. Though enhancing our own self-esteem is a crucial factor in making this decision, it is no secret that this can be a major enhancement in our MV Star career. The true challenge is not often realized until the recovery process.

Not only will there be pain, but the balancing act will be arduous. The income once received through custom vids and cam shows will significantly diminish, and fans will be turned down for weeks as the recovery process drags on. Though it’s possible to still communicate with fans and go on cam all wrapped up in recovery wear, business will inevitably slow. Days will creep by, and other stars will thrive as recovery proceeds along at its own set pace. It’s tough to stay positive and downright discouraging more days than not.

Image titleI personally know each and every one of those feelings, and I am confident that I am not alone. Here’s my story: I began my MV Star journey later in life than most, though I’ve been told that I do not look 32 (Thanks, guys!). It took some major changing points in life, and a breast augmentation to boost my confidence in making the leap into this exciting new venture. It was about that time that I realized that my A to D breast size difference was not quite enough. I had a wide space in between my breasts, caused by a large sternum bone that hindered space for more implant to fill that gap. Because of this, the only solution was to have liposuction in multiple areas to harvest enough fat to transfer around both breasts.

Since I am a smaller woman, I gave myself a good month to gain some weight and make the procedure more successful. In the meantime, I shot as many vids as I could and worked hard to build my fan base. I knew that I would be restricted from activities for 1 month following the surgery, and I would also need to wear a compression garment that started at my shoulders and buttoned between my legs (kind of like a one-piece swimsuit). This garment would always need to be on, except for when I showered. Needless to say, I was bound to lose business.

I did the best that I could to plan a strategy: I would work off of fetishes, like foot, mouth, face, and that type of content. I’d build up my crush material and work on advertising my page through cam and social media. I’d switch up pictures, run specials, and be sure to follow other MV Stars. I’m now entering week 2, and I am here to vouch that beauty is hard. I know that I will be happy with the decision I made for the revision surgery, but the balance right now is rough!

As I mentioned before, I know that I am not the only MV Star out there who are dealing with the plastic surgery recovery process. My best advice is to be open and honest with your fans along the way. Informative communication goes a long way, and you will find that creativity is key. Extra support from other MV Stars means so much to build confidence in this time, and I would love to see us support one another through our journeys to enhance ourselves and embrace our (often-times) painful beauty. Through the ManyVids community, we can achieve that balance…and our comeback will be more gorgeous than ever!
