Welcome to MV Visionary where in each installment we interview an MV Star about a specific creative vid they've made. Today we're talking to Little Puck about her vid THE RiNG | HELL TO PLAY (click the link to check out the vid but CONTENT WARNING for both the link and for the interview below because of horror themes). 

What inspired you to make THE RiNG | HELL TO PLAY?

A longtime fan requested a custom clip that featured “a cold, drowned, passionate princess...look like the girl from the ring...you are a girl from the Undead who needs human warmth or else.”

So I took that inspiration and ran with it. Immediately, I envisioned a cross between the character Ophelia (from Hamlet), devastated & drowning at the riverbank surrounded by gorgeous spring flowers, paired with Samara’s messy, unkempt visage and creepy movements in The Ring.

What do you feel sets this vid apart--

1) From your own vids?

When it comes to my cosplay vids & bigger productions like this, I tend to focus on making sure the action is POV, that I’m Very well-lit, and that there’s bright colors & engaging dirty talk. This was definitely Not That. I didn’t have a script or any real backstory to pull from and because I’m supposed to be a zombie of sorts, I needed to minimize my dirty talk, so I had to put the emphasis on the visuals. I really focused on repetitive actions, lots of strangely hypnotic movements, and creepy gestures to draw the viewer in.

I wanted the visuals to tell the story more than the words. Which is not usually my thing! I’m usually very dialogue-heavy.

2) From other creator's content?

I don’t see a lot of models playing with erotic horror but the ones who do are BRILLIANT at it!

Would like to shoutout Haunter Hexx’s rendition of Pennywise, Housewifeswag’s Stranger Things-inspired Barb Vs. The Demogorgon, and any vid I’ve seen from Alice Karina. 

I think a unique aspect to my work is my development of 1-2 min musical intros to set the scene and mood for the vid. You can find these music video intros in my Ring vid as well as
Thirst of the Vampire, Mutant Queen Magik Vs Horde of Hell, and Giggles: The Freakiest Show on Earth.

I started experimenting with these intros years ago when I filmed my Kitana Monster Whorror Fuck vid. I had made a musical promo for my Halloween party which people really got a kick out of. I couldn’t help but use my Halloween props in my Kitana vid and I was so inspired by the B-Whorror Porn vibes that I made this cheesy intro to match the hilariously grotesque set and never got tired of playing around with these mini music vids since!

You’ll find more of these musical intros in a few of my upcoming vids (one’s set in the Harry Potter world, and three others in the Archie comics)!

I feel like I’m also probably known for my intense set decorations. I love planning and designing parties (even more than the parties themselves) and just making spaces that people feel comfortable in or are thrilled by, so I get to do that to the MAX with my sex work and I get pretty wild with it.

Why release it now instead of around Halloween?

The Spirit Halloween Stores may be closed but In this house, the spirit of Samhain is alive and well year-round. We all enjoy a little thrill, any day of the week.

Can you tell us all about the filming of the vid?

I have an incredible photographer Vern (@freshfruit4rottenkdz on Instagram), who filmed this for me. Only the opening sequence was shot by me. I had a detailed vision for this but Vern is great at collaborating with me and coming up with stuff I wouldn’t have thought of!

I spent over $500 on props and labor provided by Vern helping me build the set and shoot it. So far I pretty much just made back what I put into it but in this case, the experience was everything. Getting to shoot something I was passionate about and learned from, that I REALLY enjoyed designing and performing in, and then seeing people inspired by it and even getting to do this article because of it is super thrilling and helpful in supporting my business!

I’m grateful I got to splurge on my vision but projects like this aren’t usually super profitable for me in the long-run unless they’re fully funded from start to finish. Support your porn creators! We work hard immersing you in our visions and sadly not everything we put our mind to sustains our future work. But that’s just part of the job. Putting your creativity out there and seeing what sticks and building off of that.

We ran into so many difficulties filming this particular vid. Moss was falling in and muddying the water, make-up was running off my face but like not in the sexy way. I had also just got my belly button piercing and I wasn’t supposed to take baths! So a lot of the time I had my tummy thrust up in the air so it wouldn’t get wet. Also, I was adamant when I was lying in the tub that the shots wouldn’t display my body horizontally because seeing that particular shot is a huge pet peeve of mine. So Vern had to stretch across the water and prop their foot up on the wall like Spiderman, hovering over me in this sort of daddy long legs position with my camera over the water! They rock, and we killed it.

What tech gear did you shoot it with and how long did it take to create from beginning to end?

I use a Nikon D5300 with a Nikon 10-24mm Zoom lens, a Zoom H5 Four-Track Portable Recorder as my mic, and a Diva Ring Light. For editing, I use Adobe Premiere Pro and the Magic Bullet Suite built by Red Giant.

Finding the right props to purchase took quite a few hours, building the set took a couple of days, designing the script was another hour or two, and then the shoot itself was an all-day event!

What advice do you have for creators who may want to create some adult content that's maybe a bit creepy like your Ring inspired vid?

SET THE MOOD! Think about transporting your audience into your environment. What does the ambiance need to be like to add that creepy edge to your scene? Whether it be through colored lights, sound effects, music (make sure it’s not copyrighted!), or props and costumes, you can help your fans inhabit a different world. Specifically for horror, I suggest figuring out a few gestures or movements that are strangely unsettling, like a slow tilt of the head, wild fluttering of the eyes, uncomfortably jerky arm movements, etc. And work on your voice beforehand! Practice different voices and see what fits and feels natural...ish.

What are some future creative ideas or parodies or "inspired by other media" you'd like to try?

I have a long and ever-growing list of cosplays I’d love to do! Must-dos are Goldie from Rock-a-Doodle Doo, Strongbad from Homestarrunner, Leela from Futurama, Rick from Rick & Morty, Player 1 or the Dog from Duck Hunt, Lock from Nightmare Before Christmas, Howl AND Sophie AND Calcifer from Howl’s Moving Castle, and Mrs Toad from Thumbelina.

Is there anything you want to say to your fans?

I LOVE THE PUCK PACK!!

My fans are dope af. They push me to try new things, give me space when I need it, and support me emotionally and financially through it all. I’ve been in this industry for six years and I can tell I’ve really lucked out on how cool my fans are. Thank you for this wild ride, may it never end!
