For this special contest, we’re offering the MV Community even more opportunities to win! This month there will be 10 prizes to hand out with $17,000 in cash prizes up for grabs. Our top 5 ranked winners will take home:

- 2nd place: $4,500
- 3rd place: $3,000
- 4th place: $1,500
- 5th place: $750
And this month, thanks to a fantastic suggestion from The_Sub_Mission, we’re thrilled to offer something a little different! In addition to our top 5 winners, there will be 5 themed best pic winners – each of which will take home a $250 cash prize:
- Chocolate Covered Cutie: Valentine’s Day is all about the sweets, so show us what you like to do with your favorite box of chocolates.
- Bouquet Babe: Roses are red, violets are blue, share a pic of yourself with your Valentine’s Day bouquet and you could win too.
- Blush Crush: We want to see your best pink outfit. You know, the one that’s guaranteed to make your crush blush.
- Sexiest Smooch: Pucker up, MV! This one goes out to the Creator who shares a pic of themselves blowing us a flirty kiss.

We will choose 1 winner for each theme, so make sure to get creative and festive! We love receiving feedback, suggestions, and comments from the community, and we are so excited to incorporate such a fun idea that came directly from a Creator in this month’s contest.
We encourage all Creators to upload their Valentine-themed pics to the contest page now. Then, from February 4th at 11 AM EST until February 14th at 8 PM EST, invite your friends and fans to vote for you for the chance to win one of our awesome prizes.

I was a finalist in my 1st contest this last round. You can get there, you just have to keep working hard to build a loyal following. We all have the same opportunities here, MV makes sure everyone has the chance to be represented if we take the opportunity and run with it. Just keep entering. The exposure alone will help you grow and eventually you will win one too! I believe you can! Just keep trying. Promoting yourself and your sales in the comments of these also helps others see you and could score you new fans too!
It would be nice to have a free only contest every once in a while.
They're giving out $17000 in prizes and so must be taking in even more than that. Probably a lot more. Why would they change? I also don't think it is as bad as you suggest, because I see some of the "same winners" who have actually worked their way up through a lot of effort over the last couple of years. And even for someone who doesn't win, it's a free / low effort way to get a lot more publicity. That said, the actual theme-based separate prizes are a nice additional touch.
They had a free voting contest last year, and the models complained that without paid votes it wasn't worth the effort, especially since the models with the most followers naturally got the most votes, so we're back to square one anyway, except nobody made any money (except the few winners).

What's the policy on paid vote incentives? I've had situations where paid vote incentives aren't honored.
It's customer risk. Good thing to tell people, make sure you trust who you're giving paid votes to for incentives. Usually something like "$15 for X number of videos" is pretty safe, but I've gotten scammed a handful of times with custom vid deals for paid votes, vids I never got, and all my attempts to discuss it with the models were ignored.

Sadly I doubt that they'll raise the payout soon. Remember back in august 2021 when they announced their new promo (85 % payout with using profile links which should started in november 2021). And then nothing happened except some tweets from the MV support but not even an officially statement from MV about this.
"Due to unforeseen technical issues during testing, we’ve taken the difficult decision not to release the direct-link payout percentage promo at this time. Our team is re-solutioning this promo to ensure 100% testability, stability and reliability.
We regret that currently, we cannot rule out the possibility of error in the promo’s functionality, and as a result we feel it is best to completely redesign the solution in preparation for 2022."
MV what was the solution for 2022? Almost 15! months later and there's still not a single word about this. And it doesn't make any sense because a higher payout would lead to more traffic and sales here.
