Aftercare involves more than just saying “good boy” or “good girl.” It requires knowledge of what a sub needs after any intense scene or interaction and willingness to provide the necessary closeness. For some, that means cuddles but when a Domme/Dom is not nearby physically sharing space, she/he must provide closeness remotely. This can be instructing a sub to curl up in a blanket and speak soft words of praise; while others need to instructed/reminded to eat and drink. Discussions of need must be honest and transparent and should occur prior to any scene/intense interaction so the Domme/Dom can create an ideal environment in which the sub feels safe to submit. Only then can the power exchange that the sub so desperately craves truly occur. It’s deeply satisfying 😈
