Sometimes I have really bad days where I can barely get up from one spot. Tears may happen, or not. It could be a direct, negative effect from my ADHD, or maybe something bad happened. The point is that if you want to help make me feel a little better without needing anything in return, buying food for me is a great way of doing that. When I am down in the dumps, I like to take time to treat myself to lunch or dinner alone, enjoying good food and reflecting on things. It would also be nice to be treated to food so that I don't spend my time eating out for comfort feeling guilty for spending something that feels kinda frivolous.
