Katie Morgan is folding clothes on the bed when her step-daughter, Scarlett Sage, quietly and shyly enters. Katie greets her and can see that something is troubling the teen. She asks her what's up, but Scarlett is so flustered that she can barely string together more than two words. It takes some gentle coaxing until her step-daughter admits that she kind of likes someone, but she doesn't know how to tell them. Katie is touched that Scarlett wants relationship advice from her. Even though she hasn't been in her life long, she wants her to know that her door is always open and that she can talk to her about anything! Scarlett asks how do you know if someone likes you? Katie, assuming that the crush is a boy on college campus, says that young men are so easy -- you just have to talk to them! "If he's into you, you'll know, trust me!" she insists.
