That's not how that microphone works. Speaking into the top will hurt your audio quality. With the Yeti by Blue (looks like you might have the Blackout edition), you should have your mouth facing the front (where the volume dial and mute button are). Your audio quality will improve drastically. If you don't believe me, take the top metal cage off and look at the shape of the components. Also get that dick checked for Peyronie's disease.
