I fractured my foot in a car accident earlier this month. It was all fine then the pandemic ended and I was allowed back at the pools. I had to go. The only problem is I hate these crutches. I feel like an invalid and it takes me forever to get anywhere. I put my brace. I give myself a pep talk. Then I proceed to hobble on crutches to the living room for my purse. I finally make the short journey but it feels much longer. I take a break, putting my wrapped ankle on the table to rest for a moment. Once I feel strong enough I put my backpack on and trudge slowly, well hobble, to the door to get to the pool. I can't believe what a mission this is.
