It is important to you that you are able to recognize your flaws and actively work to improve them. You want to better yourself, that is why you have sought out a counselor to help you work on your 'issues'. The counselor's methods are a bit non-traditional, she tells you she will focus mainly on improving you as a person and the relationship she thinks you need to strengthen first is this one. She feels that you have a sense of accountability and responsibility to her is a good first step for you becoming the man you want to be. She needs to know that she can mold you into the kind of man you want to become. She begins by putting you through some breathing exercises to help you relax and allow your mind to become pliable to her methods and techniques. She then explains the ways you need to act with her if you want to improve your overall well being. Funny how everything she is telling you is directly benefiting her too...but, the doctor knows best.
