Previously on Curse of Strahd... The valiant Jamie falls in battle against Rahadin. But before the sinister Dusk Elf can strike the finishing blow, the doors are smashed open, revealing Snu and a mysterious half-elf Cleric. The cleric rushes to Jamie’s aid and the party makes short work of Rahadin and his demon cocks. As Rahadin lies still on the floor, Dahlia shows no mercy and immediately strikes the finishing blow. The party takes some time to gather themselves after the fight, during which the Cleric introduces himself as Heru; the lone surviving member of an adventuring party that Strahd had "removed" long before our heroes arrived in Barovia. While the team is patching themselves up, they notice a strange ooze gathering along the ceiling and walls of the room, quickly forming a gelatinous cube. Dahlia almost immediately blinks the cube out of existence for a minute while the party runs to another hallway and firmly closes the door behind them. In this fog-filled hallway, they find Cyrus Belview; the hysterical and deranged patriarch of the Belview mongrelfolk that the party met back at the Abbey of St. Markovia. Cyrus wishes to bring the party to their rooms, but our heroes refuse, smashing the mad man’s lamp and intimidating him into handing over the key and the eyeball on the necklace around his neck. Rayne and Nyx scout ahead down a web-filled staircase that leads them to a series of prison cells partly submerged in still, stale water. The rest of the party follows soon after only to fall into an elevator trap! Snu and Sir Godfrey manage to miss the trap, but Heru, Jamie and Dahlia become locked in a cage and sent upwards, high up towards the top of Castle Ravenloft. While Snu and Sir Godfrey try to figure out what just happened, Rayne comes across the very person the party was looking for… Emil Toranescu the new Alpha werewolf.
