Inner monologue #2. Maria has been toying with the idea of having a smoke. Just one. She's been trying to quit but today, in particular, her cravings are out if control! She shouldn't... *click* and she l*ghts up. It's a dangerous road she's choosing to travel, but she cannot help herself. As she smokes, she considers the side effects of her addiction: the tar, the chronic cough, the breathlessness, as well as much darker possibilities... but when Maria feels the weight of the smoke inside her lungs, all is well in the world; the pleasure definitely outweighs it all.
