The mermaid myth is universal. Among all the peoples who depended on the sea to survive and feed themselves, there were representations of female beings who seduced men and drowned them in the sea. The legends about mermaids come from long before Christ and nowadays feed pop culture, appearing in several movies, cartoons, series and stories. I remember reading an article once about mermaids, saying that mermaids are always female and never male and at certain times of the year they are able to take human form to breed with men who live near the sea. A creative way of saying "they are among us". But who would believe such nonsense? I didn't believe it either, until I got a visit from one of them.
