Mary, in the fifth month of pregnancy, is in hospital after suffering several cardiac arrests. Her heart is very weak and she stops once more. She has been in asystole for some time and the doctors try to bring back a shockable rhythm, but without success. Eventually they succeed and begin defibrillating on the girl's chest. They get no response but her heart is fluttering. True cycles of compressions continue, and then try the defibrillator again. Her heart is in asystole again. The doctors decide to intubate her, then place the CPR board under her back, uncover her leaving her body completely naked and intubate her. The resuscitation continues unabated for other interminable minutes. The rhythm becomes shockable again and they do it multiple times. Eventually Mary's heartbeat returns and she recovers.
