The moving object gains kinetic energy when it bounces, and loses potential energy as it falls. Newton's third law states that every f-rce or action has an equal and opposite reaction. Hence when a f-rce is applied to a surface, it also applies a f-rce equal in magnitude, but in the opposite direction.
