Lalo carefully sets the table. Every plate, every candle, everything arranged to welcome someone special. He is certain of what will happen that night. The doorbell rings. Lalo opens the door and finds the food delivery man. A strange presence, at a moment he hadn’t anticipated. The man enters, as if expected. He looks around, smiling enigmatically… and something changes. Suddenly, it’s no longer the deliveryman who is there. It’s the person Lalo had had in mind from the beginning. The perfect guest, exactly as he had imagined. As if the world had bent to his will. The table remains set, but now it seems there is more than just food on it. Everything blurs: reality and fantasy, plan and chance, certainty and illusion. The dinner begins, but Lalo no longer knows if he prepared the night… or if the night prepared him.
