Lili suddenly gets the hiccups in the middle of the day. At first, they’re soft and harmless — just a little annoying. But soon, each hiccup grows stronger, shaking her chest and making her wince in discomfort. She walks to the bathroom, hoping some quiet will help, and sits there waiting for it to stop. The hiccups become sharper and more painful, echoing through the small room. Lili tries everything — holding her breath, exhaling slowly, pressing her chest — but nothing works. Her face tenses with frustration as each spasm hits harder. Finally, she grabs a glass of water and drinks slowly, praying for relief. The last hiccup escapes, and then… silence. She exhales deeply, half laughing, half exhausted — grateful that the strange and painful attack has finally ended.
