As a customer, I've known about the 40% cut since the beginning and while that was obviously a heavy take, I came from a platform that was taking 70% from live stream services. I kept on here for the number of creators that can be discovered and, let's be real the cleanest store interface. I found Jessica here. But the cracks started to show. Every time they changed something, it was obviously bad for the customer and usually bad for the creator as well. More and more things were obvious business decisions being wrapped as 'doing a favor' for the creators when that couldn't be further from reality.
Ultimately, this is becoming the inevitable path of another site on a downward spiral. It hurts as this one had so many independent creators.
Thank you so much for making this video and talking through all of this the way you are. Your willingness to be open about your decision to leave gave me the push to do it myself & I've been slowly deleting my content from the site. Though I'm already established enough elsewhere and I don't rely on MV for my main source of income, I can't imagine how hard this shift must be for someone who relies on MV to survive.
It is VERY CLEAR that they do not have the people who make porn and make this site what it is in mind with this shift. It's unfortunate, sad, & embarrassing on their part.
Thank you again, Jessica!! You really are a Star(ling)!! ;)
Thanks for posting. I knew they took a cut, but 40% seems insanely high! From the consumer side, I would not have known any of this if you hadn't spoken up.
Such a shame. Manyvids have no transparency. And now we are promoting some random guys clothng range. Like making these videos arnt hard enough. We now have to promote others. And do jobs thats arnt helpful for us. Whilst they take a huge cut off our money. A lot of my guys are asking what other platforms im on.
Thank you so much for speaking up about this, its felt mind boggling to see this crumbling downfall of this site and then how suddenly this site has changed even more in the last year. I really loved this platform and I’m sad to see it go the way it has.
I agree with you, thanks for talking about this. I'm also looking for another site. It's difficult, but we have to be open to more options when the site doesn't listen to us. I think both users and creators are getting bored, so it's good to look for opportunities on other sites where the opinions of models and users are taken more into account. It's very sad to see how a site that used to be so good has become like this.
With as big of a following as you, you could definitely start your own site and sell directly. Manyvids is bowing down to the credit card companies. If you start a site and they want to try and dictate what you sell just accept crypto. Other creators have done this and have been successful. Maybe with enough pushback the card companies will change their minds
