I play with balloons and inflate them in different ways, slowly and provocatively, pushing them all the way to their absolute limit. I use different tubes and pipes, in various sizes and styles — and sometimes I don’t use any tube at all. You can clearly see my lips wrapped around the tube, my cheeks filling with air, and the balloon’s neck stretching more and more as it grows bigger… tighter… fuller… The balloon keeps inflating… and inflating… until suddenly it explodes. Some balloons pop while I’m still blowing, catching me completely off guard. Others explode right in my hands. The pops are loud, sudden, and unpredictable. I jump, I get scared, I nervously laugh — I never know exactly when they’re going to burst, and that’s what makes it so intense. I inflate several colorful balloons, enjoying the tension, the pressure, the stretching, and the powerful moment of the pop. Each explosion surprises me in a different way, leaving me excited, laughing, and a little shaken.
