Brown noise and pain fill the room while her own pain is small, sharp and constant – the laces pulling at her nipples all the time the tray shifts. Her job is simple: don’t spill, don’t speak, don’t move unless the furniture would. The Doctor finally rises, tips the last of the drink over her face, and she thanks him like a good piece of Lab equipment. Mandated. Executed. Recorded.
