June was a wild ride—pride events, marches, hikes, volunteer work, fostering, and the start of gleaning season! 🌶️🐱 Mr. f and I hit up a vegan food fest and I was in HEAVEN. 🥵 We had Thai Peanut noodles, bao buns, spring rolls, asparagus tempura, and a guava breeze. Mind. Blown. I’ve even started making my own peanut sauce at home to hold me over! 😻<br>We also stopped by the Save the Buns table and had the most refreshing chat with Mallory, the co-founder. <br>Then we loaded up at <span class="post-create-module-scss-module__FPnqJa__mentions unfinished post-create-module-scss-module__FPnqJa__inactive">@spilledmilkgang</span> for the BEST coffee I’ve had in the US—super creamy and full of flavour! ☕ And picked up a GIANT block of red lentil tofu from <span class="post-create-module-scss-module__FPnqJa__mentions unfinished post-create-module-scss-module__FPnqJa__inactive">@cureforboredom</span> farm table. <br>Arriving at the next fest with an empty stomach and empty bags to fill!

Fact: I have a serious Reebok Hi-Top collection, and I'm sure there are more hiding somewhere I just couldn't find last night. 🥾🔥<br><br>I fell in love with these darlings years ago. Super 80s vibes, comfy as sin, gorgeous high arch support, and the only shoes that actually stabilize my hypermobile ankles without ruining my Achilles tendon. Functional and cute? Groundbreaking. 😈💌<br><br>Then a few years back I discovered this particular Reebok style has its own niche kink community. Hi-top lovers unite! Who knew my practical footwear choice was secretly someone's very specific fantasy? The world is beautifully weird, darlings. 👀<br><br>Nowadays I only buy second hand. It's the best way to hunt down limited edition pieces, and honestly? The thrill of the find is half the addiction.

From our second successful glean this last week! We gleaned a LOT of fennel, scallions, and kale. And lord was it hot, already hitting 30C that morning, I was dripping with sweat in just a few minutes. Great to glean with so many familiar faces again 🥰 and then went to drop off at the wildlife rehab. This week has been so hectic I had to stave all work until next week! With gleaning multiple farms, dropping food off at food banks, going to furryrehabs, doctor appointments and more I didnt have time for even my emails. Fact: Since the US has been limiting for good vegan and gluten-free desserts, I learned to make my own. My proudest creation? Cherry cheesecake. Mr. F and I volunteer at our local food shelter, gleaning at farms with surplus supply. We pick, package, and deliver fresh produce to the shelter and others if there's more to go around as well as filling our freezer.
