Hello! I'm Evie Scarlette and I'm an MV Star, cam girl, adult performer, and I have a disability. I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Type 3. It's a connective tissue disease that brings a lot of friends to the party such as gastroparesis (meaning a paralyzed GI tract, so eating is fun and also not possible for me a lot of the time) and POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia. Ever stand up too fast and get really dizzy? Welcome to life with POTS!). EDS type 3 is the hypermobile type, meaning my joints dislocate frequently, whenever they want to, and I spend a lot of time trying to pop myself back into place. It's a neat party trick that causes chronic, often severe, pain.

While it does seem like my body is falling apart, it's why being able to take my clothes off for money is so important to me.

Sex work is empowering. I live in a body that, while it is trying it's best to keep me alive, is kind of my enemy. My disease prevents me from holding down a stable vanilla job. It makes me do things I don't want to do, like miss a meal or fall down all the time. It impacts scheduling, my goals, and the entirety of my life. I spend a lot of time trying to find things I am capable of doing. Taking off my clothes, putting on a bit of makeup, and turning on a camera is something I can do. And it makes me feel great.

It's hard to feel sexy when you're disabled. Braces and wheelchairs and pills and migraines and doctors offices and nausea and and and... But when I make content for people to enjoy, hear their feedback and know I turned them on or brought them to orgasm, I feel sexy. I feel downright gorgeous when I see myself on screen, a lady who is owning her sexuality and isn't afraid to show that off. I feel so empowered by the community of fans I've built up, the people who look past all the "and and ands" to support me. Being able to do this means so much for me. It isn't just a way for me to support myself, but it's a way for me to take some control back of my body. It's how I'm learning to love myself, and the entirety of who I am.

Obviously, I don't speak for every disabled person, and we are all affected so differently that it would be impossible for me to try. My journey is my own, and it is one I am so grateful to be on.
