After the awesome success of last year’s Community Awards, we’ve decided to bring them back! We’ve combined a few of the previously announced Creativity Awards for an exciting summer award season! The MV Community Awards have a special focus on community spirit AND celebrating your passions—so there are awards for both safe for work (SFW) and not safe for work (NSFW) content and creators.
Online sex workers are multi-talented and are so much more than sexual beings. It's time to reward all that you’re capable of and get recognized for your contributions like uplifting your fellow creators and producing content that’s innovative, original, and outstanding.
With 18 categories, the MV Community Awards will be giving back a grand total of $9,000 in cash prizes. Every winner will receive:
A $500 cash prize

An official badge to display proudly on your MV Profile and
Promotion on MV Social (did you know that getting featured on MV Social can increase your sales up to 10% following the promo?)
How do the MV Community Awards work?
There are 18 categories in total, all listed below.
MV Stars can enter any of the applicable categories they wish to be part of.
Once you enter, you must Re-tweet the MV Community Awards Tweet to qualify and re-MV our Community Awards MV Social Post.
Voting will open June 25th at 11:00 am EST and will end July 5th, 2020, at 8:00 pm EST.
Once the voting window closes, the top 5 nominees with the most votes in each category will move on to the final round!
The MV Team will then vote in-house to select the final winners. The results will be announced on July 14th, 2020, on the MV Blog!
The first category you decide to enter will be the one linked to the "Vote for Me" button on both your profile and your cam room.
Now, without further ado, here are the 18 MV Community Awards categories for 2020:
- MV SFW Library of the Year: Awarded to the Star who has a profile packed with incredible safe-for-work content.

- MV Mukbang Vid of the Year: Honors the Star who takes Mukbang to a whole new level.
- MV Gaming Vid of the Year: Awarded to the Star with the most creative and thrilling gaming vid.
- MV Social Creative Post of the Year: Awarded to the Star whose unique post on MV Social captured the heart of the whole community.
- MV Social Pic of the Year: Honors the Star who posted an awesome pic that shows off both themselves and their photographic skills.
- MV Social Activity Feed of the Year: Awarded to the Star whose entire feed is a constant joy of interactive fun.
- MV Social Star of the Year: Honors the Star who rules on the platform by connecting, engaging, and interacting with both MV Stars and MV Members.
- MV Social Positivity Star of the Year: Honors the Star whose irresistible positivity uplifts everybody!
- MV Live Tip Menu of the Year: Awarded to the Star who has the most fun and creative tip menu on MV Live.
- MV Live Private Star of the Year: Awarded to the Star whose seductive and fiery private sessions on MV Live are unforgettable.
- MV Live Show Props Collection of the Year: Awarded to the Star who enlivens their Live streams with inventive props and accessories.
- MV Live Star of the Year: Honors the Star whose performances on MV Live elevates the art of camming and streaming.
- MV Live Cam Room of the Year: Honors the Star who’s set up a room and environment as alluring as they are!

Manyvids, introducing video compression on your platform behind your users backs is not how you celebrate your MV community.
Need a proper & official explanation as whats going on and why every recent video i download is compressed and with less quality than the original videos uploaded by the MV stars.
Two videos I've downloaded that were added in the last 24hrs appear to not be affected -- the download links on cloudfront don't have the "transcoded_" at the start of the file names. Maybe it's been silently acknowledged and changed.
Videos uploaded earlier in June haven't been fixed. Manyvids Support are trying to tell me that because the files are the same resolution that they're the same quality, when this is about file size and bitrate.
So they screwed up (deliberately or otherwise) and are currently denying it. Presumably Support are just repeating what the developers and management have told them to say.
One of the models I bought from who's upset that her videos uploaded recently have been affected is also talking to Manyvids. Hopefully that'll be more successful than them fobbing people off by talking about resolution.
It comes to something when customers are being gaslighted by a porn clips website.
can confirm i see "transcoded_" on all the affected videos i've downloaded.
for the two vids you downloaaded recently, were they from the same seller? asking because MV might be doing the transcoding/compression for vids that exceed certain bitrate or size, so maybe those two were from a seller that doesnt upload with high quality?
Two different models and one of them is a 2GB 2160p file from a top model. It's quite a long ~20min video but without having the upload file size confirmed yet I'd say has been optimised by the model rather than re-encoding. The other from another model is a standard 1080p video that's a typical 100MB/minute size.
The "transcoded_" videos I was complaining about are very noticeably small, for example a hitachi vid over thirty minutes long that was labelled 1GB but had been reduced to less than 300MB.
If you're still feeling inclined to do so, try purchasing a video uploaded today?

When did they do this before then? That makes it very hard to believe that it was done by mistake.
It's understandable that they'd keep more compressed lower quality copies for streaming on mobile devices, but not do that with downloads that people have paid for and that models weren't aware customers were only getting lower quality copies of.

@ManyVids, why are you compressing videos again!?
Are you paying for prizes with money saved on bandwidth from reducing the file size and quality of downloadable videos, which you've recently started doing to new videos? It sucks that models are going to be blamed for this when it's a site change, and it sucks for customers. We want the videos models have uploaded.
They sneaked the change around June 12th, all vids since then download a compressed version with lesser quality than original
Support are being asked to cover it up:
"I can assure that you are getting the original file with the download, we are not supplying an altered version in it's place. This is just a visual glitch on the site. We know how much effort MV Stars put into their vids and would not/have not done anything to alter their work.
This glitch has no impact on the playback of the vid in any way, and does not lower the quality. Our site Developers are working on a fix for this as we speak, and we hope to have this issue resolved soon."
Do they really think nobody talks to anybody? Customers can see it and models have confirmed it.
They're using the same transcoded lower quality files as downloads as they use for streaming. Exactly the same reduced file size.
Well yeah, the playback is not affected, but still its a compressed video that has less quality than the original. smh
Personally I'm particularly angry that this is happening to custom videos I've ordered. I've got good quality big screens and it really sucks having low bitrate when you can see compression artifacts, particularly when things are moving fast. Other clip sites don't sacrifice video quality for a quick buck.
I think the change was earlier than 12th June -- of two videos from the same model that were added on 6th June, one has been transcoded to a smaller size file (200MB down to 60MB) and the other (1.28GB) hasn't.

Don't follow others, don't worry about trends, don't worry about contests...just do what you love doing and, in time, you will gain a following that likes that thing you do and you'll be successful in your own way. It's a business and like any business you get out what you put in. Once you realize it's a business you'll also realize how silly contests are...other successful businesses out there generally don't become successful because they won a contest, it's because they worked hard delivery a quality product/service 
Yeah... this is a problem for consumers / members too. The whole system is not well designed to connect creators to people who want that content. The intentions are good but the execution just plain needs some more thought.
I usually enter, though never expect to win anything. I do it because I almost always get some new fans and sales out of it. The ones with a bunch of categories I enter as many as I can reasonably qualify for, and usually get a lot of new sales. Easy and stress-free!

Hey MV, where is the gay and trans categories like last year? Dont you all are Love, Respect, Unity? Why are you NOT giving the gay and trans a VOICE in this awards? Dont you know some cant compete against MV Girls due that they are mostly finalist in each contest due to the PAY votes! SMH MV!!! You need to FIX THIS and add those categories, mostly some categories posted in the 18 total repeat themselves! SMH

As a fan and content consumer here, I am also disappointed by MV's choice of categories for this contest. The 2019 Community Awards had 14 categories for Social (now just 5 in 2020) and 10 categories for MV Live (also just 5 in 2020). I was hoping for an _expansion_ of categories this year (Best Pet on MV Live, anyone?), and was quite surprised at the contraction. I think this does a disservice to the broad range of content creators on MV (see many eloquent posts below), and I hope MV reconsiders.

I won't be entering as I don't like these category options but good luck to everyone who does and I hope it brings you new customers! I understand these awards are used to promote MV social and live but also having so many sfw categories to encourage models to make more sfw after removing MV tube where models were encouraged to put it is frustrating. I also would love to see more categories specifically for POC and trans models.

Seven out of 18 awards are Sfw I think that is a bit much could we lose a few of those and add gay/trans and community activists awards and maybe even something fun like profile or vid aesthetics award💗🤞
Agreed. A lot of redundancy here too ... i mean look at 10 and 12, they're identical. 11 is virtually the same too. 14 and 16 are twins. Compared to 2019, these puff categories are embarrassing, and do not reflect the spirit of the year, or of our community (which MV is nothing without).
Instead of recognizing the community, MV's focus seems to be "Look at our platform! We have Live! It's been Beta forever but shhh. And MV Social [which is not a social media platform; i can't even post a picture ... how social!] Please ignore how we demonetized all your MVTube SFW content after fussing you to create it. What else? Mukbang! That's what the kids are into now, right? Are we hip yet?"
Trans / gay Stars will be at a disadvantage in a free-for-all, with no award recognitions specifically for them. Is MV listening or is the *community* commenting into the wind here?
P.S. We all want you to do well, MV. This platform has so much potential ... and it's primarily for us, the creators and consumers. That's why we pay you, and why we care about it. And it's why we get annoyed when you don't listen to us, or only do so superficially. Putting on a forced smile and gaslighting us (e.g. "that thing you hate is actually the best thing ever!") is also shitty. You legit don't have to do that.
Please work with us, not against us. We're pretty reasonable if you'll make a sincere effort. xo

On the subject of gaslighting, it turns out that loads of videos that have been uploaded over the last few weeks have been transcoded down to smaller file sizes (lower bitrate so lower quality) without models knowing about it and the original file sizes shown on the video pages before purchase.
Manyvids Support response? "Neither you, nor anyone else purchasing vids on MV is receiving anything but the original vid uploaded by the MV Stars."
Except models have confirmed otherwise. They also upload and sell the same videos on other sites, which is a dead giveaway. It's possible they've stopped with the extra compression of videos in the last day or two after people started complaining, but telling customer support to lie about it is terrible.

i know we could all use some fun in these difficult times, and Stars could use some $$ too. But this is a bizarre step backwards. Yes, you could say "hey ... everyone can be in a category" but a) that was already true in 2019 and b) we all know trans / gay Stars will be at a disadvantage in a free-for-all, with no award recognitions specifically for them. Let alone what that lack of recognition says about MV's approach to our community.
For this and a few other reasons, i'm not particularly pumped to participate this year.

Nice, but where are the trans, gay categories? I think it will be hard for some to compete with mv girls which you all know they are the top earners and this is what it is a paying contest, and well you know they are the ones always finalist on contest, and also trans and gay are talented and part of this community, why not include those categories as well?
