Big Changes to Custom Vids!

Here at ManyVids we’re always trying to make it easier for you to both pursue and fulfill your fantasies, and we are aware that people on MV always want something more. They want something tailor-made to suit their tastes and needs. That’s why we recently made major improvements to custom vid orders.

With this new update, the order forms for MV Members are now much more customizable, with many different options for MV Stars to offer. Now when members want to order a custom vid, they’ll have a wider range of choices, including:

  • More flexible time lengths

  • Many fun extras/add-ons

  • An unlimited price cap so the sky is the limit!

  • An additional tip option to really show some love!

More importantly, custom vid transactions will be more secure than ever before! Under the brand new Escrow system, once an MV Member orders a custom vid, the funds will be held securely in our system temporarily. When the MV Star has delivered the vid, the funds will be moved from our system to their account. And, MV Stars will be able to manage their Custom Vid orders from their settings as well as customize their own extras/add-ons!

Once a member purchases the custom vid, he can no longer cancel his order. As soon as the MV Star uploads her brand new custom vid, the funds will instantly be added to her earnings. This new method will make for faster delivery times and better quality! We hope this new system makes things easier and run more smoothly for everyone!

So, for everyone who has a special fantasy that they’ve been saving for their favorite MV Star, now is the perfect time to do it! Time to let our imaginations wander and fulfill our ultimate fantasies!

*** In order to address some of your concerns about the new custom vid upgrade, I thought I would leave a comment here to clear a few things up.

While I understand the worry, I want to assure you that there is nothing to worry about. This new process was very important for us because our goal is to find a happy medium between both MV Star and customer satisfaction. It's important to understand that the new age industry standard holds customer satisfaction very highly, and by implementing new changes that make both parties feel more secure we will be able to raise the bar even higher. Once the members feel more secure knowing that this process is both safe and easy, more members will want to purchase customs which will translate to more potential customers for MV Stars.

Communicating with members before the purchase is a great idea. Being able to discuss details, requests, and limits are very helpful so that you are on the same page and ready to explore a fantasy together. If for some reason, a member purchases a video without speaking to you beforehand you can always DM the buyer to clarify details in needed. Or, you can email our support team at help@manyvids.com and one of our agents would be happy to either cancel the order or reach out to the member if something needs to be clarified. Keep in mind that our support team is always there and willing to help you!

If a member is requesting a custom vid which requires additional items such as specific toys or props, you can either purchase them personally prior to receiving the funds, or you can ask the member to send you the money in advancement via your "Fund Me" or "Make It Rain" option. To help your growth in the adult industry it is important to start offering a structured professional service like you would in any other industry. 

Once you get the props, you can proceed with the custom order. Running your own business as an entrepreneur means sometimes having to make small investments in order to get back what you put in and more. Investing a little bit of money upfront is usually needed to help deliver a great product. Once the custom is ordered, MV Stars will 100% always get paid for their order. Make sure to set your prices right knowing you will be refunded for your little investments.

Offering custom vids is not mandatory you can opt out altogether, but if you do want to offer customs and you are setting up the option, please make sure that all of your necessary rules and guidelines are clear in the text box at the top of the form. This will prevent members from asking for something you are not okay with!

With all of that being said, you should also know that once an order is placed, members will have no way to request a refund automatically. The delivery standard is set to 3-4 weeks by default, but you can offer faster delivery at an extra charge if you wish. Although most members are very understanding and will respect your situation in the event of a late custom, the only instance where MV would refund a member is if the model asks to refund the member. If the member requests a refund, MV would always reach out to the MV Star on their behalf to mediate and rectify. So even if a refund is requested, you will still be given an extra time frame of 48 hours to deliver before any action is taken.

What if you enquire about a custom and the model says tip or Paypal for a custom, doesn't seem legit to me and there is no proof I ordered a custom, can anyone help with my query.  I feel I should use the customs order form am I being mislead about payments?

That is a terrible idea and it leaves ample room for scams. I just suffered one, I ordered a big custom video from a model, she said she was going to make it quick because she was leaving the site soon, I made the purchase, even sent + a big tip because she asked me to cover the percentage MVids take from her, in a few days she marked my order as DELIVERED, she just posted a fake 3 mins video of her feet, which has nothing with what I asked, which was for a 60 min custom 2 girls navel fetish video. So, she got her money from MVids and DELETED her account in the next day! Now I dont have my custom video and ManyVids haven't still anwsered my 2 emails to their support system about this absolute SCAM they allowed to happen on their site. Its a very faulty system to let the performer post ANYTHING and mark the order as Delivered, get their money and boom, they disappear from the site. The performer name was SexMir.

No u are wrong it works just fine if a custom doesn't get delivered or the content creator changes their mind (which they are entitled to do. Watching someone do something they don't want to do is hard to jerk off to anyway)
MV is perfectly fine refunding money i buy a lot of customs that aren't "normal" and would hate to weird anyone out the best thing about MV is finding creators who share your kinks. But I have gotten a few refunds  and it has been smooth. The one time a model changed her mind she asked MV to refund me and I sent it to her in a tip just for being true to herself and giving me consideration.

I have personally found out that this system is not a good idea, it has too much support power that should be in the hands of the models and members. I ordered a custom from a model with 2 week delivery and she was going through stuff so I waited another 2 weeks and decided to request a refund through support and they gave the model another 48hours. When asked about it they said it was their SOP and to do it in good faith, I was like wasn't my extra 2 weeks good faith enough and they were like "we cannot comment on that, we advise all members to contact us when any vids are past due"

So I understood a girls situation and wanted to be nice and wait for her but decided I didn't want to wait long enough and they didn't care. I even asked support "what would of happened if I had purchased 1 day shipping? Cause effectively they would be giving the model 3 days to complete a 1 day order" and they pretty much said they would pass it along to the higher ups, which the answer should of been as the customer I could agree to a different ship time and get refunded the difference or be able to flat out cancel the order and get a full refund

So I uploaded a custom that a customer had ordered under the previous system and they just got charged for it again 👎👎

Lusty, please be noted that members are charged when ordered, not when you upload the vid. If you have a customer with confusion, please have him contact support so we can help resolve this as soon as possible but I can assure you nobody is double charged. Thanks! <3

I second that for sure! I was a newer model still when it was taken away, but it was great for bringing new traffic to your profile. My regulars are amazing and I love them to pieces but I see less variety in my buyers for one offs than I used to when we had the ticker. I know lots of MV girls who saw a drop in sales with it being taken away. It'd be an easy thing to bring back.

Very nicely done.  Over the years I've had more than one of your models accept payment for a custom and never deliver the product.  Unfortunately, not only are the models allowed to remain on the site (one actually blocked me because I posted on her wall about her dishonestly), the only resolution I got from Manyvids was store credit that I had to spend all at once and in the exact amount.  Due to these issues I've turned to purchasing on other sites where the transaction is more secure.  I'm happy to see you've finally fixed your biggest flaw and I'll be bringing my business back.  Now if you could get around to removing those performers who've stole from me.......

Funny. Because I told you twice it wasn't a good time to buy it but you went ahead and did it anyway, I kept you up to date about your video, which nearly every message you sent me back was " no worries, take your time". Then you accidentally remove me on Snapchat and can't figure out how to message me so you reported me to MV. Quit being so damn butt hurt. I blocked you because despite me being in the middle of moving/ apartment hunting, being sick and having a sick child for 2 weeks and being busy with Cammiversary, and apartment inspections.  You couldn't see anything past your own problems, and you couldn't figure out another way to contact me although there is a wall feature and I keep my snap user name right on my profile. Along with my Twitter and Instagram linked in my about section.

And it wasn't like I was uploading all kinds of other content, I told you that yours was priority and next on my list and it was. New features are a great idea, but they still has a lot of drawbacks. For example, I make videos with my boyfriend or with my girlfriend, but the prices go up not on a fixed amount, there are different prices per minute, the same is, for example, whit outdoors videos and other types of videos. And the same situation is with different resolutions and exclusiveness.
And there is unclear situation with delivery times. What if customer wants it filmed outdoors when the weather is good and the weather is rainy for the whole delivery time? What if video includes several people who live far away from each other and they couldn't meet for 3 weeks in a row, for example? What if something happens with the MV performer, when the custom is almost ready and she didn't upload the video in time? What if something happens, when the video was already filmed, but hasn't been edited, though it needs a lot of editing?

I am in a difficult situation with it now myself. I've been ordered a custom with my girlfriend, we've filmed it, but it wasn't the only custom we've done that day, so I wasn't able to state specific delivery times, because there were other customs who were ordered earlier. And after it I had no electricity, water, and heat due to natural disaster for 10 days. My health suffered from it, too. And of course I wasn't able just to start editing right after I've got electricity back, my house was a real mess. More of it, my video card got broken from it, too. I don't have resources to buy a new one, so I'm using my friend's one, which is somewhat buggy, while my video card is getting fixed. And I don't know exactly when I will be able to deliver.

And the customer, I assume, doesn't understand what is a natural disaster, what consequences it has, so he calls me a scammer, though I've stayed in touch with him and did my best to explain this situation. These new features won't help me or any other MV performer in such a difficult situation, I'm afraid. :(

Thanks MV, this is really great. Anything that makes buyers feel more secure that they'll receive their product is a good thing :) I agree that we should be able to decline orders ourselves though, something like 'approve' and 'decline' buttons that either put the order into escrow or refund the buyer. Until that is implemented, it might be good to put a note in the info section of our custom order pages asking buyers to message us first to confirm we can do what they're looking for before they place an order. I'm on another site that uses escrows, and for any items supplied for the vid I either have the buyer tip for those first or purchase them off a wishlist before doing the custom video so the cost is covered up front, separate from the custom video order itself. Here on MV it could also be done via the store page by popping up an item there for the buyer to purchase.

For all the models complaing, it's nice to know that you're more motivated to make my video in a few days rather than weeks or months so you can be paid. We should be able to cancel if you don't deliver within agreed time line. But the models do need way more control over whether someone can place a custom order or not. Also if they need money up front for things, there should be an option for side escrow paid up front up and refunded if overall product is not delivered. And once the product is delivered the money should automatically be transferred to the model if the buyer doesn't confirm withint 48 hours.

The option for tipping is the way I accept money for toys & props

I have a lot of feelings about this. This is an escrow system, but i'm curious about how funds will be released to us, what if a member orders a custom and never logs back on, we uploaded it but does he have to approve it? How long will be the funds be released to us if he never signs back on to approve it? Many guys only log on once a month. It mentions members can add tips, I assume those won't be escrow and will be able to use towards extras like buying toys, outfits, and stuff other ladies are talking about. But see, my problem is waiting on a escrow might be great for guys but it lacks motivation for me. Knowing I can be paid later for a custom doesn't make me want to film it even faster, even if the money is expiring... Now I could be alone in this, and this might motivate other girls to get it done faster. But yes, lots of feels right now. I was soooo excited about this when I heard about it on twitter, the options are great but the fine print... not so much. xoxo

I'm on another site that uses a similar escrow system. Once an order has been delivered, the buyer has 3 days to approve & complete the order. If they don't complete it in that time, it's automatically completed & the funds transferred to the seller. They also have an option to refuse an order which I think is a very important choice for the seller to have. 1 thing that concerns me as a buyer is being unable to cancel a order. 1 previous experience an order was to be delivered in 3 days, 4 weeks later nothing, while my funds were in limbo, however this other site's escrow system allows the buyer to cancel their order if the seller hasn't delivered the product in the time frame they stated, which I think is a fair option. Of course unexpected things can come up & delays occur, that's where communication is vital & I'm happy to wait an extra week if I know it's so you can deliver your best work.  Anyways sorry for rambling on your comment. xoxo

I think we should get half of it upfront for a lot of reasons. if I need a new cosplay or toy I need the money. I get why we don't get all of it upfront, but I work on houses and you get at lest 1/3 up front, for dry wall ,paint ,whatever you need to do the job.
also we should add a refusure botton.

This is brilliant for the most part. My main issue is that often members want me to buy items in order to complete the video, so I won't be able to do those as I usually use a significant chunk of the payment on props etc. I'd also really like an option to refuse a custom. It's really stressful if someone has put in an order without consulting and it's something we won't do. Once they have paid there's pressure to do it anyway, so an easy refuse and refund option would help so much. Otherwise I think this will be good!

I really like the fact you can add so many more options and charge what you think is fair for it...it makes it easier to give a customer exactly what they want/are paying for. 
I don't mind that you get paid after completing the job especially since you know it has been paid for, it commits you to your filming/editing/time that a member has purchased in good faith. 
If something came up and you had to change something such as how long it takes to complete the video, most members will understand...they usually just want you to do your best for them and are willing to work things out with you.
If immediate custom video payment is the concern or add-on items such as toys/costumes/props etc.. is an issue, you could always create custom store items and get the funds added to your earnings right away.

I dont have 8 pending custom orders,just one. The other 7 orders were delivered over a year ago...

With the talk of faster delivery times I hope this doesn't end up giving ammunition to impatient buyers and lead to fewer sellers offering customs. Good content takes time, things come up apart from cycles and illness, and that's particularly the case for folk for whom this is a sideline to studying.

From the comments here it also sounds like there still isn't a straightforward low admin way for sellers to refuse unreasonable custom requests, which will also continue to have a knock on effect on how many are going to be prepared to offer them. Would suggest both making it easy to do so and giving space for a comment so that it isn't received as a slap if the user wasn't being a dick and blatantly ignoring stated limits and boundaries.

It wouldn't hurt to remind users at the "enter a description" stage to read the seller's notes section above for any dos and don'ts they've listed, either.

This is awesome... I really prefer this method of payment for custom vids. For models nervous about members cancelling customs, I don't think it will be a big deal. They have to pay for the custom upfront still, so they have to be serious about buying, and if they cancel they don't get the clip. Honestly, this will make members less nervous about buying clips and models more motivated to get them done.

I like the idea as long as it is done correctly.. I do think if a fan does order a custom video, there should be no option to cancel it as long as it is still in progress, especially if they are paying for extras. Like if a fan wants it done within a week, as long as we deliver it within 7 days, we should not have to worry about cancellations.
However, there can be some potential issues  Let's say a fan is paying for a new toy, yet wants the custom video done within 24 hours, it can't be done unless model lives near a sex store that happens to have the desired toy. Most of us order toys online, which can take a certain amount of days. I think there should be an option like if a fan chooses a new toy, a certain time period is automatically added to the custom time frame to give us models the opportunity to make the custom in the first place.

I won't be using this because I think I should receive my money before I make the video. Often times people want me to purchase things for the video and if I don't receive the money upfront, I can't do that.

I agree!! This is a big red flag for me! I don't even understand why they would make a change like this when obviously the customer can cancel if they happened to not receive their custom. Why this added non-sense.

Part of the price of my custom videos includes working out the details and discussing my fan's sexual fantasies with them. I think it is wrong to assume a custom video cost is ONLY for the video itself. I think everyone should be paid for their time UP FRONT.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I stopped taking custom video orders on here awhile ago, and I still will not be using this feature for custom videos.

I love this. The only concern I can see is if customers are paying for add ons such as props or costumes that need to be paid for. Then you wouldn't get paid for those until after the video is delivered. What if the customer cancels? Otherwise I think this is fantastic!

I agree with this fully, as I'm sure many Models do. Customs are wonderful in the meaning of the word, Customized for that exact viewers specific desires. Most who buy these type of videos want every last detail to match their preference. The things they might need you to purchase for their video are endless, just to name a few (props, toys, shoes, clothing, make-up, cigarettes, food, nails, decor and sometimes even an extra person or two, three or four~! haha) I guess the only way around this new hold on our money is for the buyer to send the money in another way for the extra parts of the custom in the video, until ManyVids finds a way to take this big piece of it into consideration.

I don't like that part one bit. And how will MV know it's been delivered so they can send us the funds.

Yeah, I'm not about it. Won't be utilizing this if that's the case. The comment above this thread is mainly why.

I understand it's hard for Mv to make everyone happy with changes they make. But this is awful.

So my only complaint is that we can't opt of customs??

If you receive any orders you do not wish to fulfill you can just notify support and they will return the member's money! :)

I'd prefer to just be able to choose whether or not to offer them then have to go through that process every time. That should be a mandatory option. Especially because in doing so, it'll turn off a lot of members from returning after

I really like this idea! I like being able to keep track of them easily, I just hope the few little bugs will be fixed soon hehe it says I have pending customs that I did like.. Last year. Otherwise I'm excited for this!

The pending message you see is because you may have previously fulfilled your custom orders outside of MV. If you wish to have this removed, you can email help@manyvids.com but going forward you will not see "pending" as with the new system, you will be able to track and exchange more efficiently!

I'm having the same issue as Arwen but I've fulfilled these orders on Manyvids directly. I have a few videos that I've completed within the last month still showing up as "pending" when the customer who bought the video has already seen it and received it through MV.

Felicia, we are going to implement changes soon in order for you to be able to update the status yourselves. Please don't worry about this "pending" status as we have records of what was sent where! <3
